What You’ll Do:
 
Perform various chemical, analytical, serological, mechanical testing to obtain data used in the diagnosis and/or treatment of diseases. Under the general supervisor, perform clinical laboratory tests, requires and exercise independent judgment can act as supervisor in the absence of the supervisory personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. 1. Carries department procedure with extreme care, accuracy, proficiency and efficiently and samples are process expeditiously.
2. 2. STAT/RAPID RESPONSE tests are given top priority and pre-established turn-around-time (TAT) are meet all times.
3. 3. Provide blood drawing coverage when necessary in collecting samples in order to perform analysis and appropriate specimen labeling protocol followed.
4. 4. Make sure all proficiencies are performed, reported and any outlier investigated with appropriate corrective action.
5. 5. Assures that quality assurance, quality control, maintenance are performed at specified frequencies.
6. 6. Observes all laboratory procedures and/or [protocol related to his/her duties.

What You’ll Bring:

Education:
Graduate of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology.
Qualified a Medical Technologists (generalist) including blood bank preferred.
American Society of Clinical Pathologists certificate as: M.T (ASCP) certificate preferred.

Experience:
Minimum of one years experience as blood bank technologists or two year experienced as a generalist.
 
Current New York State Clinical Lab Technologist  license
