What You’ll Do:
Under the direct supervision of a physician, provides diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive health care services.  The P.A. provides a broad spectrum of comprehensive medical services, treating patients with physical ailments, ranging from superficial injuries to acute medical disorders. Case mix complexity consists primarily of routine cases in a structured environment with ample supervision.  

  • Care for patients admitted to an 8-bed closed ICU and a 19-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). 
  • Perform central line placements, nasogastric tube placements, arterial line placements.
  • Communicate and coordinate care with internists and subspecialists on the admitted patients.
  • Provide critical care support to the physician assistants in the Emergency Department.
  • Coordinate transitions of care and discharge medically stable IMCU patients
  • Assist with throughput in clinical assessments of downgrades


What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor in Science or Masters degree 
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Current licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant issued by the NYS
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Current unrestricted DEA certificate
  • Ideal role for a Physician assistant with experience in Critical Care Medicine
  • Basic Computer skills to navigate Electronic Medical Record
  • MS Office Basic
