Job Description

Responsible for maintaining and monitoring all film library activities.  Will pull cases for specialty clinics.  Responsible for delivering all reports originating in the clinics and X-Ray reports for the in-patient clinics to the Medical Records Department.  Answers phones.  Will schedule appointments for all originating in-house and outside referrals.  Calls floors for patients and returns patients as requested.  Registers private patients and covers the reception desk.  Files, locates, logs, retrieves, and delivers medical records as requested and assigned.  Assists other clerical staff when possible and appropriate.  Maintains effective working relationships with staff.  Must possess ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and all other members of the team.  Must be able to adhere to and practice consistently the patient and staff rights and responsibilities.  Strong time management skills required.  Must practice within the basic scope of practice for their position.  Must be able to ensure a safe environment for patients, families, and staff; identify health and safety risks and take appropriate and immediate steps to alleviate the risk.  Assists in the orientation of new personnel as assigned by appropriate staff members.  Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Knowledge of computers, insurance, and billing requirements a must.  Must be able to type 45 words per minute with knowledge of word processing.
