The Interboro Regional Health Information Organization d/b/a NY Care Information Gateway (NYCIG) is a clinical data exchange serving New York City and Long Island which facilitates the sharing of patient information between authorized health care providers at the point of care. NYCIG currently has a new position available for an Associate Director of Compliance responsible for the management of all compliance activities and the policies and procedures of the organization.
Reporting to the Director of Operations and working closely with the Executive Director and the Director of IT, the Associate Director of Compliance will oversee all activities related to the implementation and maintenance of privacy practices, policies and procedures. Specifically, this position will be responsible for developing, promoting, and enforcing policies, procedures, and workflow practices to ensure that NYCIG, its vendors, and its participants remain in compliance with HIPAA laws, NYCIG organizational policies, HITRUST certification requirements, New York State Department of Health certification criteria for Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIOs), and the Statewide Policy Guidance (SPG) of the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY). Please note the position is located in Manhattan, NY.
Required Skills & Education
-A minimum of five years of relevant experience
-Self-motivated with ability to problem solve, establish priorities, take initiative identifying new projects and areas for improvement, and work under pressure without supervision
-Highly organized with strong attention to detail, strong research and analytical skills
-High level of integrity and sound judgement
-Ability to be flexible
Preferred Skills & Education
-Master’s, Graduate, or Law degree
-Experience serving in a HIPAA privacy office
-Familiarity with HIPAA, healthcare laws, regulations and standards
-Compliance training, experience, and/or certification(s)
