Job Description

BronxCare Hospital Center is currently seeking a full-time fellowship-trained Pediatric Surgeon to join its teaching hospital team. Qualified candidates must have excellent clinical, management, and communications skills, as well as a proven record of accomplishments and a demonstrated ability to work effectively within a large integrated health system. For over 120 years, BronxCare Hospital Center has provided quality health care to those in need. Today, BronxCare is the largest voluntary, not-for-profit health care system serving the South and Central Bronx, with 972 beds at two major hospital divisions, comprehensive psychiatric and chemical dependency programs, two specialized long-term care facilities, and an extensive BronxCare Network of medical practices, including the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Health Center, that provides more than 1.1 million visits annually. BronxCare Hospital Center is now among the largest providers of outpatient services in New York City, and its ER is responding to 140,000 visits, one of the busiest in New York. Its outpatient practices are also certified as a Level Three Patient-Centered Medical Home (the highest designation) by the National Center for Quality Assurance.

  • Lead Pediatric Surgeon at one of the busiest hospitals in the Bronx
  • Faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine
  • Collaboration with Mount Sinai on challenging cases
  • Interaction on a professional level with other staff members and physicians
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all patient information according to the federal and state guidelines and regulations

Position Qualifications:
  • Medical Degree from an Accredited University
  • New York Medical License
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Surgery
  • Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
  • A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
