Roles & Responsibilities:
The Patient Financial Representative is a front-end individual who interacts with customers and assists with requests, provides information, answers phones, obtains demographic data, verifies coverage and other related duties.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. 1. Interacts with customers, provides information, responds to requests and follows up accordingly.
2. 2. Answers phones efficiently, providing timely and courteous access into the system.
3. 3. Obtains complete and accurate demographic and insurance data by interviewing the patient and entering information in appropriate systems.
4. 4. Verifies the patient’s insurance coverage and, if necessary, secure additional information from the physician or patient; evaluates the customer’s Medicaid status (if appropriate). Advises the patient of any financial liability that will be their responsibility.
 
 
Requirements:
Education:
High School diploma/GED
 
Experience:
Health care exposure (including familiarity with third party insurance verification and regulations as related to inpatient/outpatient/ambulatory surgery, etc.) preferred
