Roles & Responsibilities:
 
The primary focus of the general clerk is the responsibility to participate in the everyday function of the unit which includes the overall general clerical duties, answering telephone, scheduling patient appointments, and retrieving, organizing and scanning documents. 
  • Actively greets patients, families and co-workers, smile, make eye contact, speak clearly in a friendly manner.
  • Answer phones promptly, direct calls according to provider preference and forward to the appropriate personnel; check voice mail messages several times throughout the day.
  • Schedules appointments in person, by phone, on line and email.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
  • Follows up with appropriate department to retrieve reports.
  • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality

High School Diploma or GED
