Job Description

Responsible for configuring, implementing, and administering the enterprise-wide data network. Maintain the security of the network through a program of regular updating & patching of network software.  Provide technical expertise and assistance to the department and to the Infirmary’s scientific and research community.  Knowledge of PCs, PC operating systems, networks, network operating systems, networking protocols and topologies, servers. Experience in implementing and managing local and wide area networks.  Bachelor’s degree in computer-related discipline or equivalent experience.  This position has primary responsibility for configuring, implementing, and administering the enterprise-wide data infrastructure, including the LAN, the WAN, the virtual server environment, the enterprise backup system, the centrally-located departmental file servers, physical server and SAN infrastructure, and the security system, including enterprise antivirus, domain GPO, internet access, and network access control.
