The Anesthesia Manager has overall responsibility for Anesthesia materials management. This employee manages the day to day supply and equipment needs for Anesthesia Department, supervises Anesthesia Aide/ Technician and assists the Division Director of Perioperative Services and the Director of Anesthesiology.  Assist in the development of par levels for anesthesia and ensures that carts are stocked daily.  Ensures that carts, anesthesia machines and equipment are cleaned, sterilized where applicable and ready for use daily. Assist anesthesiologists to prepare rooms between cases & troubleshoot equipment as necessary.  Maintain inventory of all anesthesia supplies, order supplies when necessary maintain records of all transactions relating to supplies and equipment. Items may be ordered from the pharmacy, central supply, laundry, store departments or outside vendors. When dealing with outside vendors, ensure that the best interest of the hospital are reflected in price and quality.  Develop system and procedure to ensure that the anesthesia department runs smoothly with respect to the flow of supplies and equipment.  Consult and keep the Division Director and Director of Anesthesiology informed of activities needs and problems.  Assist the Division Director in scheduling staff, performing quality assurance assessments interface with other departments of the hospital, preparation for surveys and responses to patient complaints.  Previous experience as an Anesthesia Technician and management experience required.  Must be licensed as an Anesthesiologist.  High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
