MSBI Communications Intern

 

About the Organization:

Mount Sinai Beth Israel is a hospital that has been serving the Lower East Side community since 1890. In 2013, Beth Israel became part of the Mount Sinai Health System, affiliated with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Mount Sinai Beth Israel is known for its award-winning heart and stroke care, comprehensive psychiatric and addiction programs, leading HIV and AIDS care, and our vastly-growing ambulatory network of primary care and specialty providers that span Manhattan below 34th Street. In 2021, Mount Sinai Beth Israel will move into their new home, a state-of-the-art hospital being constructed on 14th and 2nd, near New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai.

 

The Communications Intern will gain hands-on experience in creating internal communications in a rapidly changing healthcare environment.

Projects may include:

      Participating  in day-to-day operations of the Mount Sinai Beth Israel communications department

      collecting and creating written, video, and photo content for social media accounts, employee blog, and broadcast emails

      Assisting various hospital departments in creating content and communication plans to support their initiatives, including quality, and employee engagement projects

      Coordinating with Mount Sinai Health System marketing department on system marketing and internal communication projects

      Analyzing communication data from YouTube, Wordpress, Instagram

      Organizing and documenting employee engagement events

      Helping to prepare, organize, and edit content, including video and photography

 

 

Required Skills:

      Outgoing and comfortable speaking with others in a professional and clinical environment

      Experience conducting interviews

      Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

      Experience with video editing software of your choice

      Proficient English language writing skills

Preferred Technical Skills:

      Adobe Creative Suite

      Wordpress

      Social Media

 

         

Hours:

 

10-20 hours/week, flexible between the hours of 9-5 on Monday-Friday. Fall, Spring, or Summer Semester.
