Roles & Responsibilities:
The Assistant Nurse Manager is a Registered Professional Nurse with broad knowledge and skills who acts as clinical leader who works in collaboration with Physicians to initiate safe, effective therapies for patients with wounds and at risk for skin breakdown
  1. Assess the health status of patients with wounds and who are at risk for skin breakdown in accordance with current standards of care.
  2. Consult with Physicians and other health professionals in formulating and executing plan of care as necessary.
  3. Adhere to procedure protocol in performing tasks and duties.
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in management of wounds and decubitus ulcers.
  5. Communicate incomplete tasks to staff to facilitate completion.
  6. Document patient teaching strategies and make changes in plan of care to reflect changes in patient’s status.
  7. Report critical changes to the appropriate team members in a timely manner.
  8. Participate in Wound/Skin Service operational activities including meetings, in-service activities and orientation of staff.
    Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing required; Masters in nursing or health related field preferred.
    Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State

    3 years minimum clinical nursing experience with some Charge Nurse/supervisory experience preferred. Must have relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice assigned
