Roles & Responsibilities:
 
Performs echocardiograms, exercise stress tests, stress echocardiograms (both with exercise and dobutamine) and assists in the performance of transesophageal echocardiograms.  Maintain a high level of professional expertise to obtain consistent and accurate diagnostic information.
  1. Performs echocardiograms
  2. Assists with the performance of exercise EKG stress testing
  3. Performs imaging for stress echocardiograms: both with exercise and dobutamine
  4. Reviews test results with physicians, colleagues and students. 
  5. Appropriately documents findings as a preliminary report in echo reporting system
  6. Assists in maintenance of supply inventory and requests all necessary supplies for test area and echocardiogram machine
  7. Assists the cardiology echo attending in the performance of transesophageal echocardiograms.
  8. Performs other related duties
 
Requirements:
 
Education:
 
High school diploma or GED
Graduate of accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
 
License & Certification – One of these four is a requirement
 
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
Cardiovascular Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CRCS)
