Job Description

Per Diem Radiation Therapy Technologist, Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program. Work under the general supervision of the Director of Radiation Oncology and the Lead Radiation Therapist. The Radiation Technologist will responsible for Providing exceptional patient care and customer service. Accurately setting up patients for treatments, administer ionizing radiation as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Follow safety procedures and protocols to protect patient and staff from radiation hazards. Performs and document machine quality assurance procedures.  Operates equipment, such as linear accelerators and CT simulation units in a safely and effective manner. Follows Hospital and department protocols and policies. Maintain accurate and detailed treatment chart documentation. Maintain and organizes treatment room. Assist patient from stretcher/wheelchair onto treatment couch. Intermittent walking, standing, and bending to assist patients and perform job duties. Functions as an instructor for students. Professional behavior at all times. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:  Graduate of an AMA or JRCERT approved school of Radiation Therapy, required.

Licensure: New York State license in Radiation Therapy, required.
Professional Certification Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), required.

Experience: 1 - 2 Years in Radiation Therapy preferred. New grads will be consider base on skills.

Skills: Strong interpersonal skill. Very good communication (written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills required. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, 4DITC, MOSAIQ required. Thorough knowledge of Radiation therapy technology required
