Assists with filling floor stock and patient orders under a Pharmacist.  Answers phones, delivers medications, returns medications and to the pharmacy, expired medications and Pyxis related items.  Assists in unit dosing, batching, preparing kits, etc.  Check for expired medications in preparation for Nursing Unit/Pharmacy inspections.  Maintain a clean and organized work area/environment.  Assists pharmacy staff members as needed within the scope of practice of an NYS Pharmacy Technician.  Must have meticulous organizational skills, excellent computer skills, be detailed orientated, have a working knowledge of packaging medications, labeling, and cleaning.  Must have excellent math skills, be a team player, excellent communication skills, be punctual, self-motivated, and works well with pharmacy staff and other hospital personnel.  Must be an actively Certified Pharmacy Technician from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.  Must be able to build reports, proficient with data entry, fill and deliver stock orders, prepare products for sterilization, and have institutional and retail pharmacy experience.  High school diploma or equivalent required.
