Under the general supervision of a licensed physician, evaluates and treats patients with medical and/or surgical problems and assists in delivery of emergency care within the scope of emergency medicine practice. Performs routine histories and physical examinations; performs and/or interprets diagnostic tests and/or procedures as detailed in the department specific scope of practice. May participates in training and quality assurance activities with other members of the clinical department. Delivers direct patient care.
-Job requires completion of NYS-approved program for training of physician assistant, minimum Bachelor of Science program/degree in Physician Assistant studies.
-Registration required with New York State as Physician Assistant.
-Certification with National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); American Heart Association or equivalent as provider of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Life Support (PALS).
