Job Description

We seek postdoctoral fellows who will work in a lab at department of psychiatry at Icahn school of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York City. Our lab (PI: Hirofumi Morishita, MD, PhD) studies experience-dependent perceptual development to establish novel therapeutic strategies for neurodevelopmental disorders. We take an integrated approach, combining molecular, anatomical, electrophysiological, and behavior methodologies using mouse models.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform molecular biology, rodent in vivo analysis (e.g. surgery, histochemistry, behavior experiments), and/or in vivo/slice electrophysiology and imaging.
Education:
PhD in neuroscience or related field required.

Education:
3 years. Past experience in molecular biology, rodent in vivo analysis (e.g. surgery, histochemistry, behavior experiments), and/or in vivo and slice electrophysiology preferred. Experience with virus, optogenetics, and/or Matlab is a plus.

Computer and General Skills:
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and a statistical program.
Matlab a plus.
Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
