The fellow will be engaged in translational breast cancer research, investigating mechanisms of drug resistance and metastases of triple negative breast cancers, as well as validating novel therapeutic approaches using patient-derived tumor models.

The post-doctoral fellow or research scientist in will be engaged in translational projects focused on oncogenes that regulate growth and survival of drug resistant breast cancers and their microenvironment. The fellow will use a broad range of approaches (genetic, cell biological and in vivo modeling) to understand how breast cancers, particularly triple negative breast cancers, resist chemotherapy treatments and metastasize. The projects also examine how anoikis resistance and epithelial-mesenchymal transition contribute to the growth and metastases of triple negative breast cancers. The fellow will utilize patient-derived xenograft models of breast cancer to validate novel therapeutic strategies.
