Roles & Responsibilities:
The Vice President, Patient Care Services is
responsible for ensuring quality patient care and the development of strategies
for long range planning and determination of the future of the Patient Care
Services and Nursing Departments.
Participates in institutional planning and management; fiscal decisions
and quality improvement mechanisms.
Facilitates the activities and development of programs for the
Departments of Patient Care Services and Nursing in accordance with the goals
and mission, cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policies
of The New York Eye & Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai and the Mount Sinai
Health System. Partner with
organizational stakeholders across the hospital and health system to embed the
care coordination processes necessary to ensure the patient care experience and
outcomes agreed upon measures of success.
Has demonstrated competence in the administration and management of a
Nursing and Patient Care Services Department in a large, teaching hospital; demonstrated
commitment to the nursing profession; membership in professional organizations;
eligibility for joint appointment with university affiliations. Master’s Degree required. Must have New York State nursing licensure
and current registration. Must be certified
and have 3 years experience in progressive leadership roles.
