Job Description

Mount Sinai Services is seeking a full-time staff psychologist for an inpatient psychiatry unit at NYC Health+Hospitals/Queens. The psychologist will act as primary therapist for a panel of patients, providing daily individual evidence-based psychotherapy, along with other empirically-grounded interventions (e.g., family and group treatment), as needed. The psychologist will also be responsible for initial evaluations, psychological testing, supervision of trainees, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and special projects.

Applicants must have: a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited psychology program; a current New York State license; completed an APA-accredited internship; and worked in a psychiatric inpatient setting.


Roles & Responsibilities:

1) Psychiatric/psychological patient screening and initial evaluations

2) Primary therapist for patient panel

3) Daily evidence-based individual psychotherapy and psychoeducation

4) Empirically-grounded group psychotherapy and psychoeducation

5) Family psychotherapy and psychoeducation

6) Psychological testing

7) Supervision and training of psychology externs

8) Participation in therapeutic milieu

9) Participation in program development, evaluation activities, and special projects

10) Interdisciplinary collaboration and coordination

11) Attendance at departmental, division, and unit meetings and training seminars

12) Completion of documentation

    Requirements:

    • doctoral degree from an APA-accredited psychology program
    • completion of an APA-accredited internship
    • current New York State license
    • experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting
    • proficient in evidence-based practices
    • commitment to recovery model
