Roles & Responsibilities:

The Inventory Management Pharmacy Technician (IMPT) assists the Pharmacy managers in the ordering of medications, documenting, updating, and scanning of purchase orders, delivery slips and/or vendor invoices and updating drug prices in the Meditech Drug Library. They will also ensure that all other required information is catalogued prior to sending the final invoices to Accounts Payable for paying.  Medications may be ordered directly from the manufacturer or indirectly from the contracted hospital drug wholesaler or through existing 340B purchasing software supplied by Sentry Data Systems.  Communication between the Pharmacy, Purchasing, Pharmaceutical drug or device providers and Accounts Payable is vital for the success of this position. The IMPT may, if directed by the managers, assist the department and the pharmacists in those non-judgmental, physical and technical tasks associated with the practice of pharmacy as defined and limited by the NYS Board of Pharmacy. Candidate must be certified through the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board and must be in good standing.  High school diploma or GED required.  Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Suite programs.
