Mount Sinai South Nassau is currently seeking a Teaching Faculty Internist physician in Hempstead, NY!

The chosen candidate will be part of Mount Sinai South Nassau's Department of Internal Medicine in Oceanside. The is a full time teaching attending position, with mornings spent seeing patients and afternoons spent mentoring/supervising Internal Medicine residents. The Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai South Nassau is comprised of 400 voluntary and full time Internists and subspecialists, and has an ACGME accredited 30 resident Internal Medicine Residency Program that began with 10 PGY1 residents in July 2019.  South Nassau also operates Long Island’s only free-standing, 9-1-1 receiving Emergency Department, located in Long Beach. In addition to its extensive outpatient specialty centers, South Nassau provides emergency and elective angioplasty, as well as being a designated Stroke Center by the New York State Department of Health and Comprehensive Community Cancer Center by the American College of Surgeons and an accredited center of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Association and Quality Improvement Program.  The hospital has been awarded the Joint Commission’s gold seal of approval for disease-specific care for heart failure, primary stroke, hip replacement, knee replacement, wound care, bariatric surgery, and end-stage renal disease, and recently was named as one of only 25 programs in the US by the Infectious Diseases Society of America as a Center of Excellence for Antimicrobial Stewardship. 
 
Designated a Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for outstanding nursing care,  South Nassau also offers Novalis Tx™ and Gamma Knife® radiosurgery technologies, and operates the only Trauma Center on the South Shore of Nassau County verified by the American College of Surgeons.

Position Qualifications:
Medical Degree from an Accredited University
New York Medical License
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
