Roles & Responsibilities:

The Manager/Liaison interacts with patients and/or their representative in a caring and professional manner and works collaboratively with the Lasik Center healthcare team in providing quality care.  The Manager/Liaison is expected to work with a high degree of competency, skill, and independence of thought and action to enhance the effective operation of the clinical area.  Duties may include, but are not limited to overseeing the daily operations of the administrative areas.  This will include patient registration, entering data into Meditech, accepting payments and making change through cash, credit, or check transactions, issuing necessary financial and clinic forms for patient’s signature, scheduling ancillary appointments, confirming and updating patient information as necessary, and answering all calls promptly, efficiently, and politely.  Will coordinate and assist with registration and reception coverage during lunch, staff absences, and other staff limited periods.  Will promote excellent customer service in regards to phone calls.  Assists and directs staff to a performance of greater than 90% service level per the desktop monitoring system.  Must be fully versed on the duties and actions of the Operating Room Coordinator and is able to function in that capacity during vacations and other absences.  Completes laser audits as required by the Laser Safety Committee.  Acts as community physician liaison to develop an ongoing dialog with both faculty and voluntary physicians.  Assists the Vice President on other daily and annual projects per the direction of the Director.  Must have excellent communication skills, be computer literate and proficient in the use of Meditech scheduling and billing modules and knowledgeable of the various medical and diagnostic procedures performed in the facility.  Must have a high school diploma or GED with some college and/or work experience including office administrative work and medical insurance practices.  Must have experience dealing with a varied patient population as well as physicians, nurses, technicians, and various clerical staff.
