Roles & Responsibilities:

 

Responsible and accountable for managing the registration staff, budget, billing, payroll, regulatory requirements, physical plant and other administration functions in the department.  Supports and participates in system-wide planning and initiatives.

 
Administration

Responsible for effective management of department administration and operation


 Budget/Finance

  • Has matrix reporting responsibility to System Finance for budget preparation and report generation

  • Develops and has oversight of ED Registration and budget

  • Responsible for monitoring budget

     
Billing
  • Ensures proper policies and procedures

  • Trains and develops staff

  • Reviews complaints and responds when appropriate and determine billing adjustment

  • Reviews and responds to corporate audits

  • Monitors revenue cycle process to improve accuracy of front end demographic and insurance information

  • Reviews and manages denials


Physical plant
Data
  • Works with IT to maintains, upgrade and modify IT systems for registration and billing

 
Environmental Rounds
  • Coordinates, tracks and documents environment of care rounds in ED

 
Management,
  • Develops and evaluates direct reports: registration staff
 

Requirements:


Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree preferred

 

Experience and/or Skills Required

Demonstrated high level of competence in the administration and management of a complex, dynamic department

Ability to influence and manage people outside of the direct reporting line

Able to prioritize multiple pressing and urgent tasks
Project management and presentation skills
Fluent in Microsoft Office and ADT systems

 Adapts easily to new technology applications

Thinks creatively
Patient Experience and staff development skills
