Roles & Responsibilities:

Provides administrative and financial support for the business and operations functions within the hospital.  Reporting to the Director of Finance & Business Operations at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, the

Financial Analyst compiles and analyzes financial information. They will create reports and ensures accurate data recording.  Oversees data validation and organization and makes sure that it is available to appropriate people and systems within an organization.  Implements the best practices in data management to ensure the integrity of the data, the quality of data processes and deliver analyzable data to a variety of internal clients of the Medical Center.  Maintains data integrity and supports data analysis as necessary.  Make recommendations and assist in data analysis as necessary.

Make recommendations and assist in data capture, data extraction and analysis.  Provides support for preparation of

financial models/analyses to support current and proposed business transactions, service offering, and performance

improvement initiatives, etc.  Prepare utilization analysis and trending. Prepare financial reports for presentation.  Assist in the reporting of financial results.  Proficient in data collection and basic analysis.  Compile and analyze data.  Ability to

compile and display data in easy-to-understand and ready-to-use formats.  Assists faculty and staff with queries, statistical analyses, reports and technical difficulties related to data retrieval.  Performs other related duties.  Strong

analytical skills.  Demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy, tact and professional demeanor.  Able to work under pressure.  Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.  Ability to routinely meet deadlines.  Strong communication skills, both written and verbally.  Strong data entry skills while

maintaining 98% accuracy.  Ability to work fluently with others in the department.  Able to quickly learn proprietary

software systems.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience required.  Master’s degree may be

preferred.  Two to five years’ experience, preferably in a large medical center or healthcare environment with a focus in Accounting, Finance, or similar field.  Advanced Skillset in MS Excel and Word preferred.  Basic skillset in MS Access

and Outlook.  Preferred skill set using Tableau, Allscripts EPSi, and MS Visio.
