Job Description

We seek postdoctoral fellows who will work in a lab of Hirofumi Morishita, MD, PhD at department of psychiatry at Icahn school of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York City. The goal of this position is to identify the key developmental regulatory mechanisms of cognitive function such as attention and social cognition from the molecular, circuit to the behavioral level. Potential project will combine circuit-specific in vivo electrophysiology/imaging in awake behaving mice with circuit-specific genetic and viral manipulation of gene expression and neural activity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform molecular biology, rodent in vivo analysis (e.g. surgery, histochemistry, behavior experiments), and/or in vivo/slice electrophysiology and imaging, and behavioral experiments Education:
PhD in neuroscience or related field required.

Experience:
3 years. Past experience in molecular biology, rodent in vivo analysis (e.g. surgery, histochemistry, behavior experiments), and/or in vivo and slice electrophysiology/imaging and behavior experiment preferred.

Computer and General Skills:
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and a statistical program.
Strong English verbal and written communication skills.
