Mount Sinai seeks Unit Medical Director for HIV Medicine!

The Mount Sinai Health System is currently seeking a full-time Unit Medical Director for HIV Medicine.The director of the inpatient HIV medical service attends on and oversees a housestaff-led inpatient medical service for patients with HIV who are admitted to the hospital. The patients on this service typically are admitted with a wide range of medical illnesses, most often HIV/AIDS-related opportunistic infections and malignancies. The HIV inpatient medical director attends on the service 7 months/year, in 2-4 week blocks of time, providing both clinical supervision as well as HIV and ID education to the house-staff and students. This position involves working closely with residency leadership, to continually optimize the rotation for the house-staff. In addition, this position includes several quality/administrative roles and would participate and collaborate in hospitalist-focused activities for Hospital Medicine.  Finally, the HIV inpatient medical director organizes a weekly meeting of inpatient and outpatient HIV providers to review the admitted patients on the service and discuss challenging clinical cases.  As one of the premier academic health systems in the country, we expect candidates to have a strong clinical background and be fully committed to the mission of Mount Sinai Health System. Position Qualifications:
 
Medical Degree from an Accredited University
New York State Medical License
Board Certified in Infectious Disease  
ID fellowship is preferred, IM with HIV experience is also acceptable
