Successful candidate must have experience in programming and is preferred to be familiar with high-throughput naalysis of biological data. Under the guidance of Dr. Fatemeh Haghighi (epigeneticist) and Dr. Yongchao Ge (statistician), this position involves integration of large-scale data sets, design and implementation of data processing pipelines and analyses of genomic and epigenomic data.
Strong quantitative background in computing, with a demonstrated ability to deisng and implement algorithms in working code.
Coursework and practical experience in applying statistical and/or data mining approaches to compex and noisy biological data.
Programming experience in UNIX/Linux environment using programming languages such as R and Bioconductor.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to take advantage of highly collaborative environment, adaptability and willingness to contribute to the overall goals of the research.
PhD degree(s) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or other Quantitative fields who are interested in genetic and epigenetic research
