Job Description

A position is open for a postdoctoral fellow in the Lazarus Lab at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Our group ( is a new lab studying important starvation and nutrient signaling pathways in cancer and diabetes, focusing on 1) autophagy and 2) O-GlcNAcylation, using crystallography, chemistry, and cell biology. We are interested in taking new approaches to understand the basic mechanisms cells use to respond to nutrient changes and to develop new therapeutic strategies for targeting diseases.

We're looking for a motivated, recent PhD, interested in either of these research areas with a strong background in chemical biology. The ideal candidate will have synthetic chemistry experience but also some familiarity working with enzymes. The candidate should also be hard working, independent but collaborative, and have the ability to see a project through to completion. The candidate should also be eligible and willing to apply for an F32 fellowship or equivalent prior to start date. We're in the Department of Pharmacological Sciences and are part of a great research community on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Mount Sinai is an equal opportunity employer with a strong commitment to diversity. Ph.D
