Job Description

The candidate will study the pathophysiology of mitochondrial fatty acid oxidation disorders using mouse models. The candidate will focus on disease relevant phenotypes such as fasting-induced hypoglycemia and skeletal muscle myopathy. The candidate will also study the interaction between mitochondrial and peroxisomal fatty acid oxidation using a combination of cellular and animal models.

- design, perform, interpret and report experiments
- present obtained results at meetings
- write scientific articles
- prepare grant proposals - Recent PhD degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or a closely related field
- Proven ability to work independently as well as within a team
- High level of intrinsic motivation
- Experience with animal models
