Job Title: Assistant Director - Volunteer Services


Roles & Responsibilities:

• Interview and place volunteers in basic science and clinical research settings, administrative offices and ancillary areas and, as needed, patient care areas.
• Work with medical school and corporate leadership and researchers and administrators in multiple areas to develop and oversee volunteer placement opportunities.
• Participate in creation of Departmental policies and procedures regarding volunteer programs and services, including the transition to a new, robust computerized and web-based system.
• Collaborate, as needed, with multiple Mount Sinai Health System Departments, leadership, and administrators.
• Liaise, as needed, with high schools, college, graduate, and professional schools regarding the recruitment, training, monitoring and evaluation of student volunteers.
• Function as Director in her absence.


• Master’s degree preferred; BA required.
• Program development experience.
• Administrative leadership experience.
• Experience with provision of volunteer services preferred.
• Experience with medical research preferred.
• Computer literate.
• Exceptional collaborative, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
