Job Title: Digital Executive Director

This position reports to Vice President of Marketing
The Executive Director is responsible for the leadership and management of the Digital Marketing team, responsible for the customer digital engagement strategy and execution for the health system. This position currently has three direct reports: Senior Director, Digital Marketing, Associate Director, Web Development and Production and Director of Finance, Administration and Operations. 
 
Leadership and Management
  • Effectively translates MSHS strategic plan into results by managing the ongoing alignment of the department to priorities and linking financial and operational planning and management processes with the organization’s strategy.
  • Leads, develops, and retains a high-performance management team while continually assessing talent to ensure continuity for all key positions.
  • Develops and manages strategic partnerships and joint ventures to complement internal capabilities and ensure that developed initiatives are designed to meet the goals and objectives of MSMC.
  • Provides rigorous evaluation and measurement of projects and programs. Creates and distributes a campaign dashboard and manages all digital resources to improvement of metrics
  • Recommends timelines and resources needed to achieve goals. Creatively finds resources—internal and external-to achieve goals and fill needs
  • Develops and sustains positive relationships throughout the medical center and is whose staff is the primary liaison to corporate departments such as Finance, Purchasing and Human Resources.
 
Digital Marketing
  • Oversees the creation, implementation and management of a comprehensive, fully trackable, CRM-enabled digital marketing strategy aligned to the specific business goals of the Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS).
  • Devises integrated digital and social media strategies that meet pre-defined segmented revenue growth and audience awareness goals of Mount Sinai’s clinical, academic and research offerings.
  • Leads, develops, and retains a high-performance management team.
  • Directs the creation of campaign-specific content strategy—informed by audience research, competitive landscape assessment, brand positioning analysis, and patient-journey exercises—with key performance indicators and dashboard reporting built into each. 
  • Identifies emerging growth strategies, focusing on patient acquisition and physician referral key performance indicators.
  • Manages full-thickness digital campaign creation (SEM, display, in-app, paid social, etc.), analytics, user experience, SEO, quality assessment, digital creative, and development efforts, incorporating best practices and leading-edge ideas into each.
  • Provides enterprise-wide strategic insights into developing digital and social trends, aligning each with specific customer engagement and acquisition goals. 
  • Develops, implements, and guides optimized user Experience for MSHS
  • Oversees the creation of content-rich, audience-specific, search engine optimized digital marketing materials tailored to core audiences of the Mount Sinai Health System’s seven member hospitals, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and Mount Sinai Doctors Faculty Practice.
  • Creates and implements the digital marketing strategy for each of the Mount Sinai Health System member hospitals, as well as for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
  • Supervises all digital marketing efforts,, for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
  • Manages all search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns, each tracking against specific measurable goals, for the health system and school.
  • Collaborates with Information Technology to maintain, merge, and redesign multiple websites and CMS into a shared responsive website using Vignette.
  • Consults with and presents to Health System, School and Faculty Practice C-level leadership on the implementation of marketing and communication objectives, strategies, and tactics.
  • Oversees brand execution across the health system’s full digital landscape.
  • Meets regularly with institutional stakeholders—including Health System leadership, department Chairmen, Administrators, and Research Directors—to ensure that their communication needs are being met by digital marketing resources, while fitting within the institution's overall marketing strategy.
  • Directs the planning, production and implementation of multimedia enhancements for all Mount Sinai core entity digital properties, including videos, mobile versions, infographics, and other rich media.
Finance
  • Responsible for Supplies, Compensation and Capital Budgets for all of Marketing.  Working closely with leadership and senior managers to forecast, create and maintain expenses while assessing and implementing the Departments short- and long-term goals.
  • Ensures compliance with MSHS financial policies and procedures.
  • Assists in determining resource needs and assessing financing requests.
  • Develops and manages strategic partnerships and vendor relationships to complement internal capabilities. 
  • Oversees the review of all purchase orders, contract terms and conditions, pricing, and proposal preparation and submission.
  • Oversees the administration of contracts in accordance with the institution's procurement regulations and policies to insure compliance and avoid conflict of interest issues.
    Implements and administers the contracting process for RFP package planning and development, sourcing and qualification of bidders, formation, assembly and issuance of RFPs and addendum, and preparation and issuance of contract documents.
  • Evaluates capital equipment needs and justifies them in terms of technology and cost.
Administration
  • Responsible for Human Resource management for full time employees, consultants and temporary staff. 
  • Provides direction and approval for recruitment, terminations, compensation and organizational changes for each department.
  • Ensures compliance with MSHS financial policies and procedures.
  • Assists in determining resource needs and assessing financing requests.

Operations
  • Ensures effective systems and best practices are in place to manage and track digital and editorial production in addition to working closely with mangers to regularly evaluate components for continued improvement.
  • Ensures data gathering, analysis and consolidation to produce regular metrics reporting from all areas and to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Responsible for the smooth and cost-effective running and maximum productivity of the department
 
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization, understand and grasp technical/scientific content.
  • Demonstrated track record in Digital Marketing in both B2b and B2C industries.
  • 15+ year’s management experience
