What You’ll Do:  

As an Associate Researcher you will serve as a Tissue Coordinator for Autism BrainNet.


Duties/Responsibilities include:

  • Support outreach activities
  • Participate in regular staff meetings
  • Interface with vendors, medical professionals, medical examiners, funeral homes and representatives from organ procurement organizations
  • Work in cooperation with the Clinical Director to coordinate the shipping of fresh, xed and frozen human brain tissue
  • Process dura, blood, fresh human brains and other human tissues according to Autism BrainNet protocols
  • Support the database development by entering relevant case information
  • Work in cooperation with Autism BrainNets Science Program Ocer to section and ship tissue approved for distribution
  • Work in cooperation with Autism BrainNets Neuropathologist for completion of neuropathology examinations as needed
  • Track existing cases as they are consented, processed, stored and distributed
  • Work in cooperation with other members of Autism BrainNet sta to achieve other objectives as deemed necessary by program leadership
What You’ll Bring:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s in biological sciences with an interest in neuroscience
  • 0-1 years of Laboratory research experience
  • 0-1 years experience with dissection
