Roles & Responsibilities:   
Under the supervision of the Directors, process and prepare DNA libraries for next-generation sequencing on the Illumina platforms in a high-throughput fashion. Will also conduct research and development on optimizing existing pipelines and early access assay testing and development.
Efficiently learn, optimize, and conduct RNA & DNA isolation, and varied PCR-based amplification protocols. 
  • Efficiently perform sample quality control assays using BioAnalyzer, Fragment Analyzer or Qubit instrumentation. 
  • Use processed RNA and DNA to create WGS, WES, RNASeq and targeted amplicon libraries. 
  • Carry out next generation sequencing protocols as well as operate and maintain sequencers.
  • Work closely with the Directors to optimize production and R&D protocols.
  • Directly communicate with project managers to guide sample submission and progression using a LIMS system.
  • MS or BS with experience in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biology or Genetics with experience in basic molecular or cell biological techniques such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, WGA, cDNA generation and standard molecular biology reactions such as ligation reactions, end repair, damage repair, etc., gel electrophoresis and bioanalysis.  
  • Long-range PCR, capture methods and other biochemistry experience are a plus
