Mount Sinai Short-Term Training Program for Minority Students invites current undergraduate, graduate students, and recent graduates to participate in a short-term (12 weeks with possible re-appointment to 24 weeks) training program at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, one of the most innovative teaching and research centers in New York City.
Trainees will work with a faculty mentor on a research project related to public health and environmental medicine. Research projects are available in many different disciplines including data science, epidemiology, health communication, molecular biology, genomics, and clinical disciplines among others.
- Conducting literature review
- Developing a study design
- Analyzing data
- Drafting a manuscript for peer-reviewed journal publication
- High School Diploma/GED, required
- Candidate’s must be enrolled in an accredited College or University
- African American, Hispanic/Latino(a), Native American, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, or Rural Appalachian,
- US citizen, non-citizen national, or permanent resident
- Available to work full-time for 12-24 consecutive weeks in New York City
