Job Title: Social Worker – Ambulatory Care

Roles & Responsibilities:

The social worker in this new position will be responsible for providing psychosocial care to research participants in The Alzheimer’s disease Research Center (ADRC) at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The ADRC is a comprehensive research facility and clinical program dedicated to the study and treatment of normal aging and Alzheimer’s disease. 

The social worker in this position will be a part of an interdisciplinary team that seeks to improve diagnosis, delay disease progression, and enhance the well-being of those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. The social worker will provide comprehensive psychosocial services and care management to research study participants and/or caregivers. It will be the responsibility of the social worker to implement memory and aging workshops at senior centers. 

The social worker will oversee all tasks related to the recruitment of older adults into research studies and will take an active role in the coordination of appointments and referrals to memory evaluations at the ARDC. Assistance with the preparation of documents including patient letters, initial evaluation outcomes, resources, grant reports, and/or annual follow-ups will be required. The social worker will be involved with the preparation and execution of the annual ADRC Participants’ Appreciation Day held annually each spring. 


New York State LMSW or LCSW.
Bilingual (English/Cantonese or English/Mandarin) required.
Excellent clinical, collaborative, and organizational skills.
Ability to develop new position.
Experience with family systems and age-related biopsychosocial issues preferred.
