Job Title:  Social Worker – Inpatient Psychiatry



Roles & Responsibilities:

This position presents the opportunity to work with adult patients hospitalized for treatment of acute psychiatric illnesses. Social workers participate in an interdisciplinary team; collaborate with inpatient and outpatient providers, do patient and family biopsychosocial assessments, and work to make referrals to strengthen community supports. Social workers work quickly to evaluate and plan for post-hospital care while providing support and crisis management services to patients and their families. This is a challenging assignment because of the focus on clinical work combined with short length of stay (LOS). Coverage responsibilities may include other adult psychiatry inpatient units.


New York State LMSW.
Ability to develop and implement safe, appropriate, and timely discharge plans in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Excellent organizational, collaborative and clinical skills.
