Global Health Program Coordinator - 2313128


The Global Health Program Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and coordinating all programmatic, teaching and operational activities for the medical student global health programs throughout the four-year MD curriculum. The program coordinator is highly organized and dependable, and will ensure excellent support to the team, the students, faculty and staff.

Reporting to the Education Program Manager, the Global Health Program Coordinator will be a vital member of the Global Health Education team within the Department of Medical Education and will work closely with the Curriculum and Students Affairs teams to ensure seamless coordination of student programs.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Global Health Education programming across all four years
  • Designs and implements the application processes for Global Health programs
  • Manages and monitors tracking of students’ completion of global health program requirements, milestones and academic credit
  • Communicates resources, policies and guidelines to students, faculty and staff
  • Works closely with faculty and the Curriculum team to develop programming, learning resources and small groups for two courses that are part of the core medical curriculum
  • Coordinates all details for programmatic activities, including space allocation, evaluations, facilitating speakers, educational technology needs, and financial transactions
  • Manages calendar of both curricular and programmatic activities, and keeps faculty and trainees informed of upcoming events
  • Serves as a direct resource to students, faculty and staff with regard to information on Global Health Education programming
  • Develops and maintains all program information in the curriculum management system, including curricular content, program information, calendar and resources
  • Develops information and promotional materials, and maintains the Global Health Education content on the ISMMS website
  • Prepares and distributes student communications including event notices, applications, conference opportunities, etc.
  • Manages all global health contact lists, including updating and maintaining email list-serves for fundraising and educational events
  • Works with Program Manager to manage funds, including budget submissions, basic financial transactions and contracts with external service providers
  • Coordinates the travel for faculty, staff and students, including overseeing visa and document requirements and administering travel requests and reimbursements
  • Works closely with the Office of Global Operations to ensure all trainees adhere to safety, security and health related guidelines and policies when engaging in international travel
  • Processes payments, honorariums and reimbursements for faculty, trainees, visiting lecturers and international partners
  • Assists with monitoring and evaluation activities for the Global Health educational programs
  • Assists with other administrative duties as needed


Bachelor’s degree required. 

2 years related experience


• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Background or interest in education
• Enthusiasm about working closely with trainees
• Background or demonstrated interest in global health
• Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated commitment to teamwork and collaboration
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to understand and anticipate the needs of students and faculty
• Ability to create high quality, professional written documentation and correspondence
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Facility with online web-based tools such as Qualtrics, RedCap, and Mail Chimp
• Willingness to work occasional nights and weekends for major educational and fundraising events
