Financial Authorization Associate I – Radiation Oncology II, Req 2337660

The Financial Authorization Associate I verifies insurance benefits for patients, creates visits in Cerner, obtains authorization for E&M visits and radiation treatments and coordinates payment of uncovered medical expenses. Assists patients with insurance and payment issues, collects co-pays and deposits.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Obtains and verifies patients’ insurance benefit information from insurance companies or private payers regarding coverage for services.
  • Obtains all necessary payer authorizations for E&M and radiation treatment visits.
  • Creates visits in Cerner.
  • Communicates and informs patients of any potential patient out-of-pocket liability, and works out payment plans as necessary.
  • Assists patients with questions or problems regarding insurance coverage and other financial matters.
  • Reviews charges, collects co-pays and deposits.
  • Maintains and completes all insurance assessment forms and agreements and ensures they are accurate for claims processing.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Education: HS/GED; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 1+ years financial authorization experience is preferred
