Job Description

To investigate the molecular and cellular mechanisms through which sleep deprivation modulates the acute and persistent inhibition of short and long-term memory.
Identify and localize changes in gene expression associated with sleep deprivation and circadian modulation of memory at the sub-circuit and neuronal level using deep transcriptome sequencing, isoform expression analysis, QPCR and in situ hybridization.
Behavioral pharmacology, circadian analysis and protein biochemistry also will be used to test potential signaling mechanisms modulated during memory formation.
Experience with molecular biology, fluorescent microscopy, genome-wide expression assays and bioinformatics is preferred
