Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of the Clinical Research Education Program(CLR) leadership, assist with administrative aspects of the CLR Program.
  • Meet with current students and advise on program processes and requirements.
  • Track student’s progress in every course at the end of each term and in the program to determine if students need to be placed on academic probation or need remediation.
  • Track student’s progress in their MSCR and PhD thesis and work with program leadership to resolve issues that arise.
  • Communicate with the student body periodically regarding important deadlines and ensure that students submit program forms on time as it relates to graduation, MSCR and PhD thesis, LOA, course withdrawal, incompletes and other program related forms.
  • Assist with checking out students for degree conferral/graduation and work with registrar’s office to ensure that student records are updated.
  • Work with faculty to schedule all courses. Provide guidance and support to faculty involved in PhDCLR committees and MSCR thesis advisors.
  • Update and manage all data related to the program as it relates to students, faculty and alumni records and communicate relevant data to the registrar’s office in a timely manner.
  • Interact with prospective students. Advise them on application processes/requirements and assist with orienting them to the program.
  • Collaborate internally with central Admissions Office, the Office of Enrollment Services, and other departments, faculty, and administrative staff on various aspects of the admissions process.
  • Support the Associate Director with program recruitment efforts including conversation and yield activities to raise yearly enrollment metrics.
  • Coordinate program activities throughout the year related to writing workshops, career development events, orientation, and other activities as needed.
  • Collect and analyze admissions data and prepare detailed reports as requested by program leadership.
  • Represent program at on campus and off campus events. Some travel and flexible scheduling may be required particularly during recruitment season in the fall.
  • Maintain and update program website as well as program materials including degree checklists, course schedules, and other student guides/resources.
  • Represent the CLR program in various ISMMS meetings including Graduate School, Enrollment Services, Registrar’s office, Library meetings and other conferences and committee meetings.
  • Delegate and supervise tasks such as scheduling meetings with faculty and students, catering, purchase order requests, etc. to Administrative Assistant.
 
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree, Master of Science in health-related field or Master’s in education preferred
  • Minimum 2 year of administrative experience in an academic research setting
