Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Oversee a staff of 30 FTEs made up of RNs, Medical Assistants (Clinical Oncology Associates).
  • Oversee the operational and administrative duties of a practice that offers services in Bone Marrow Transplant, Myelodysplastic Syndromes, Leukemia and other blood cancers, Lymphoma, and Benign Hemes. 
  • Insure that the overall patient management program supports patient, unit and clinical service objectives, patient management, and excellence in the delivery of patient care services.
  • Develops implements and oversees a unit-based quality initiatives & performance improvement program that promotes both clinical service and financial excellence.
  • Demonstrates integral involvement in the Nursing Department PI/QA program. Participates in monthly Nursing Department meetings.
  • Conducts daily rounds with patients and staff on the unit/service.
  • Maintains reviews and updates all specialty policies in accordance with hospital, professional and regulatory standards.
  • Supports the overall strategic goals and service standards of the Hospital and the Nursing Department.
  • Identifies, responds to and investigates potential and actual risk management issues.

Requirements:

  • BSN required
  • Master's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred (enrolled or earned)
  • Chemotherapy certification required.
  • OCN certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of progressive nursing leadership experience demonstrating solid management abilities within clinical oncology setting.
  • Licenses: NYS RN License
