Roles & Responsibilities:

The Zwaka Laboratory at the Black Family Stem Cell Institute of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York is looking for a research technician.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic researcher.  The successful candidate will assist with simple experiments, set up solutions, perform general lab management tasks, wash and sterilizes glassware, perform routine maintenance of equipment, maintain inventory of all research supplies, prepare purchase orders and maintain databases. 

  • Associates Degree in science (or related field) or HS/GED plus two years of related experience; BS or MS degree in Biomedical Science is preferred..  
  • Two years of related lab experience, including experience in cell culture, animal handling and husbandry, DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, plasmid preparation, western blot, immunostaining, and/or flow cytometry are of advantage. 
  • This position requires a candidate with a good work ethic, analytical and organizational skills, the ability to multitask and to collaborate well with lab members.
