ASSOCIATE RESEARCHER - DEVELOPMENTAL & REGENERATIVE BIOLOGY
Strength Through Diversity
Ground breaking science. Advancing medicine. Healing made personal.
A major focus of the laboratory research is in craniofacial biology, where we seek to identify the pathways by which Platelet Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) and Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF) signaling in multipotent neural crest cells regulate the development of the midface. We use genetic mouse models and molecular, cell biological, and biochemical analyses in our research. For more information see: http://labs.icahn.mssm.edu/sorianolab/
The successful candidate will work closely with a senior member of the lab, as well as other members of the group. The successful applicant must be highly motivated, have good communication skills, and keep excellent records. It is important that she/he can work efficiently as part of a team.
The successful candidate will be involved in a diverse array of routine laboratory activities, with a core focus on: (1) handling of laboratory mice, genotyping, and tracking of mouse colonies; (2) cell culture, histology, molecular or biochemical analyses. It is also expected that the successful candidate will aid in general lab organization, including ordering equipment & supplies, re-stocking common reagents and solutions and maintaining lab databases.
- Bachelors degree in biomedical science or related field required
- 0-2 year of research/laboratory experience; strongly prefer candidates with experience in biomedical research
- Appropriate verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
