Senior Development Officer, Special Events
Mount Sinai Health System seeks a Senior Development Officer, Special Events responsible for the management and execution of events and partnering with Special Events team on project based assignments for the Mount Sinai Health System.

Roles & Responsibilities: 
  • Manage specific department portfolio of events that fit the strategic initiatives for the Mount Sinai Health System. Includes annual, institutional, cultivation and stewardship events.
  • Support Development’s comprehensive program plans to raise funds for The Mount Sinai Health System.
  • Create and manage timeline and budget for events, working with DOD/MGO to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Track event responses and maintain an accurate attendance list.
  • Oversee day of materials: handouts, name badge, run of show, and other related tasks.
  • Coordinate and manage audio visual needs for both internal and external events.
  • Recruit and manage development staff volunteers to work events as needed. Prepare and coordinate post event mailings.
  • Pre/Post Event Support – i.e. database entry/management, follow up on outstanding pledges
  • Facilitate and manage collateral process between Communications and DOD/MGO on invitations, save the dates, posters, programs, and website
  • Maintain Cultivation and Stewardship Event calendars hard copy and on SharePoint. Distribute to appropriate leadership monthly.
  • Maintain the annual Cultivation and Stewardship budget.
  • Track all invoice/payment requests and log them into the events budget.
  • Work with payment processing department to ensure our budget is       accurate.
  • Prepare monthly update for Senior Director, Special Events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years' experience in special events
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to learn fund-raising database, Raiser’s Edge experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with great accuracy and efficiency
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sensitivity, tact and diplomacy
  • The ability to honor confidentiality
  • The ability to work within an environment that emphasizes teamwork as well as individual initiative
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Flexibility and ability to meet deadline demands
  • Able to work nights and early mornings as needed for events
