The Pharmacy Services Project Manager supports all phases of project and program management for Mt. Sinai’s Department of Pharmacy, ranging from conception / ideation to implementation and on-going measurement and monitoring of specific project or ongoing department initiatives. Key areas of responsibility include: identifying, qualifying, and quantifying improvement and new business opportunities, organizing and facilitating project and initiative workgroups, tracking and communicating progress across complex, multi-disciplinary projects and business initiative portfolios, assisting in the development of project and initiative measurement and monitoring, preparing reports and presentations to update staff and leadership of progress to goals, and ensuring comprehensive and timely communication to and knowledge-sharing with key stakeholders. Additionally, s/he leads development and use of best-practice project / program management tools (e.g., opportunity assessments, resource planning, budgeting, initiative charters, status reporting, issue and risk management, KPIs, etc.) for on-going, standardized department use

Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Supports project / initiative identification, proposal development and opportunity quantification, including related ROI analyses and business case development; determines, resource needs and allocations, timeline, and funding requirements to support all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Vets project / initiative / business opportunity assessment findings and presents final proposal to key stakeholders to enable go/no-go decision.
    Plans, directs and coordinates activities of approved, designated project(s) / initiatives to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Establishes and manages milestones, dependencies, detailed steps, and timeline as part of a comprehensive, integrated work plan that s/he maintains and updates throughout the project life cycle. Works in a collaborative fashion, across disciplines, to assign work plan responsibilities and scopes of authority.
  • Develops and implements organizational structure, processes and tools for project / initiative status reporting and executive sponsor updates to help ensure that targeted goals and outcomes are achieved within the approved timeframe and budget.
  • Maintains issues and risks log; facilitates the identification of needed mitigation steps, responsible parties, and timelines for completion. Ensures that issues and risk are effectively and timely assessed for impact and communicated among project participants and to key stakeholders and executive sponsors, accordingly.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget, including consultants and other outside vendors.
  • May contribute to the performance evaluation of the employees associated with the project scope and may evaluate vendors and consultants and their effectiveness and ability to deliver as promised.
  • Facilitates the identification and implementation of project / initiatives Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Works across departments and / or disciplines to gain KPI consensus, establish standard metrics definitions, determine data source(s), and institute an approach and methodology for on-going reporting, including variance reporting and benchmarking.
  • Completes post-project/initiative evaluations, including lessons learned and recommendations for future project phases or future projects.
  • Creates and maintains shared folders / Sharepoint site to support program / initiative / project communications, version control, standardization, etc.
  • Performs other related duties including but not limited to: vendor coordination and / or management, as applicable, requests for information and / or proposals (RFIs, RFPs, etc.), supporting analytics and summaries of findings, general organizational infrastructure and communication needs.
     
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • 7 years of relevant experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification; PMI certification
  • MS Office Suite (advanced)
