A postdoctoral position is available to study the neural circuit mechanisms of depression and drug addiction in the Departments of Pharmacological Sciences, and Neuroscience at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. We seek candidates who are interested in using electrophysiology, viral-mediated gene transfer, optogenetics and in vivo calcium imaging approaches, to investigate the neural mechanisms underlying behavioral variations in response to social stress and alcohol use in rodent models (Nature 493:532-6, 2013; Nat Commun 8:2220, 2017). Applicants with experience in slice electrophysiology, and who are willing to learn new techniques, are especially encouraged to apply. Experience with programming (MATLAB) is a plus.
