Job Description

This is a postdoctoral fellow position in the Psychosis Risk research program in the Department of Psychiatry, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. This role focuses on using automated algorithms to study language and communication in psychiatric disorders, with an emphasis on psychosis. Dr. Cheryl Corcoran MD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Program Leader in Psychosis Risk, will provide supervision in the behavioral assessment and automated analysis of communication in psychosis and other psychiatric disorders. The postdoc will develop and extend current expertise in normal language and discourse analysis by gaining more experience with clinical cohorts. The postdoc will also assists with preparing IRB proposals, grant applications, and oral/poster presentations and research manuscripts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To establish the coordination of basic and moderately complex project activities and to ensure the quality, timeliness, and integrity of ongoing projects and schedules. Specifically, for the implementation of a prospective cohort study of adolescents and young adults at clinical risk for psychosis, for an existing R01, as well as for collateral projects.
2. To develop and maintain a detailed project schedule, which includes administrative tasks, and to ensure adherence to deadlines.
3. To use automated algorithms to study communication and discourse in clinical cohorts, both for existing NIMH grants, as well as for pilot data for future grant applications. 
4. To analyze neuroimaging (MRI) data for these and other studies.
5. To prepare literature reviews and empirical manuscripts based on collected and analyzed data.
6. To develop reports and other deliverables as assigned, specifically MSSM IRB and NIH requirements (enrollment reports, progress reports, data archival)
7. To help PIs in preparing grant applications.
8. To interact with IRB and other regulatory entities to ensure smooth and approved conduct of research procedures. 
9. To monitor project deliverables and timelines, notifies the PI when issues arise, and take corrective actions, as needed.
10. To help with conference travel planning and departmental correspondence as it relates to the project. 
11. To help with communication with outside contractors and/or vendors and consultants as required by the project.
12. To supervise and train students and research coordinators in research methods.
13. To perform other related duties.
