The Kamphorst lab studies CD8 T cell function and differentiation. Focus on a better understanding of T cell exhaustion and T cell rescue by immunotherapy (e.g. PD-1 targeted therapy). Mouse models of chronic viral infection (lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus) and tumors will be used, and studies will be complemented by analysis of samples from cancer patients. The lab is currently expanding work on liver cancer.
