Job Title: Data Manager
The Tisch Cancer Institute (TCI) at the Mount Sinai Health System is dedicated to providing outstanding cancer treatment and cutting edge research. We have recently established the Center for Computational Immunology to translate new computational approaches to understanding tumors, the immune system, their interaction and co-evolution into improving responses to cancer immunotherapies and the design of next generation therapies.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The Data Manager will work with investigators to develop, manage, and maintain public and private datasets primarily related to cancer immunology. The individual will be expected to manage the transfer of data between external parties and TCI, maintain the control of access between parties, and establish protocols around dataset organization.
Individual should be comfortable with working in a team environment and will be expected to work collaboratively with investigators and administration. Datasets will be from industry-sponsored studies, consortia, NCI projects, and investigator-initiated studies.
Managing Data Manafest: Work with investigators to maintain and regulate data control and sharing across the Health System.
Manages and assists in the writing of new data requests.
Gathers data needed to prepare and process applications for IRB review and approval.
Collaborates with the Principal Investigator (PI) in completion of funding application and data transfer documents.
Coordinates conference calls with investigators to aid in study development.
Updates and maintains datasets from dbGAP and other data consortia.
Performs other duties as required.
· BA/BS degree required; Master’s degree preferred in related field such as bioinformatics or computer science.
· 3-5 years of related experience required.
· Ability to multi-task; detail oriented.
· Programming experience in database management using languages such as SQL a plus.
· Prior experience working with datasets, research experience and writing background a plus.
