Independently conducts research experiments using advanced technique in electrophysiology and molecular biology. Experience in patch clamp and molecular cloning are required and experience with planar lipid bilayer techniques is desirable. The successful candidate will work independently in a small laboratory to drive the studies forward. Creativity, careful experimentation, and detailed documentation of your work are a must.

Roles and Responsibilities: 
  • Perform electrophysiological experiments
  • Become an active member of the research team to help define experimental priorities, design and implement experiments and report findings through meeting attendance and manuscript writing
  • Oversee all elements of laboratory operations, including maintaining supplies and inventory and ensuring compliance will all with safety and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor and trains less experienced research staff and graduate students
  • Performs other related duties as needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Biophysics or related field.
  • Master’s Degree in sciences or related field preferred
  • 5 years in a research environment
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of standard electrophysiological research techniques
